This project is an exploration of the systems of utility in the built environment. It focuses on objects that go unnoticed by most passers by everyday. These objects are essential to our everyday American lifestyle and reveal a cultural value system of power, pavement and obscuring nature. Through this photographic project I am able to uncover and present this value system by asking viewers to consider the effect our lifestyle has on the landscape by interrupting our typical habits of attention.
