As a maker of items for the urban environment I began to see the critical context to be utility objects in urban areas.  I defined these objects as publicly funded and part of public works like fire fighting, traffic control, water, electricity, and waist removal.  They provide a tangible utility to residents of the area.

My exploration of “utility” occured during my morning jogs.  I then documented my findings while walking my neighborhood.
